May 7, 2026 - Thursday - Today we were in Pasadena, CA to visit the USC Pacific Asia Museum. This is our second visit here after eight years. We came for their new exhibition called "Mythical Creatures: The Stories We Carry." The exhibition draws approximately 100 objects from USC PAM’s significant collection that spans more than 5,000 years and includes art from East Asia, South and Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, and the Pacific Islands.
The exhibit is large occupying the entire first floor of the museum spread over seven galleries.
The "Money Frog" spit out coins using a lever.
The last gallery had a large metal sculpture of a phoenix that is captivating.
We tried a new restaurant today called the Green Street Restaurant.
Judy had their buttermilk pancakes with blueberries.
I had their Chilaquiles with hash browns.
The food was okay, but not spectacular.
