June 5, 2019 - Wednesday - We were flying blind on today's adventure, going to the area designated as Thai Town in Los Angeles, CA. Thai Town is a six-block area flanking Hollywood Boulevard between Normandie Avenue and Western Avenue, its entrances being marked by two statues of apsonsi (a mythical half woman, half lion angel in Thai folklore). Our plan was to park in a parking garage and wander on both sides of Hollywood Boulevard to see what Thai Town is all about.
There are plenty of restaurants and stores here.
After getting a local's recommendation, we decided to try the Vim Thai Restaurant for lunch.
Judy had their "Chicken Curry with Coconut Milk and Bamboo Shoot" for her entrée.
I choose their "Pad Thai Chicken." Both were delicious and we came home with tomorrow's lunch.
For desert we stopped at Bhan Kanom Thai to try their sweets.
It was a very exciting adventure since it was all the wonder of discovery. This view from the Vim Thai Restaurant, showing the apsonsi with the Griffith Observatory in the background, was very memorable.
