November 20, 2024 - Wednesday - Today we were in Palm Desert to visit a new art gallery that opened here. Skidmore Contemporary Art was previously in Malibu, CA for over 26 years. They currently have a group exhibition called "Earth + Sky: Contemporary California Landscape."
It's fabulous! We loved the paintings and they ran from about $3,000 to $15,000. We loved this typewriter titled "Chapter Eight: It's a Mystery."
After the gallery we had lunch at a Palm Desert favorite, Café des Beaux-Arts.
We both started with a cup of their French Onion Soup, it's heavenly.
Judy had their "Brie Burger" with bacon and grilled onions. She liked it, but couldn't taste the Brie.
I had something I hadn't eaten in a while, "Coq au Vin." It's braised chicken with pearl onions, mushrooms, and bacon simmered in wine. Delicious!
