July 15, 2026 - Wednesday - We stayed local today and visited the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands. The latest exhibit is called "Chinese Pioneers: Power and Politics in Exclusion Era Photographs." The exhibit examines how photography shaped the lives and public perception of Chinese Californians during and after the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. Beginning in the Gold Rush era, when significant numbers of Chinese immigrants arrived in California, the exhibition traces how anti-Chinese sentiment led to discrimination, violence, and exclusionary federal policy.

Before the Museum we drove over to the city of San Bernardino to have lunch at an authentic Mexican restaurant called Mitla Cafe.
Judy had "Peggy's Special" with a crisp flour tortilla, melted cheese, pulled beef, sauce and beans.
I had their chili relleno with rice and beans.
Both dishes were rich and flavorful!
