December 27, 2025 - Saturday - We stayed local between the holidays to visit the Riverside Art Museum. The first exhibit we saw is called "Fancy Forest Friends." It draws on 19th-century Californian sartorial sensibilities and Victorian-era aesthetics. The artist, Jared Wright, created a nice collection of whimsical animal characters.
The second exhibit we saw is called "A Look at Our Collection." Like most museums, space and conservation requirements mean that the majority of their collections remain in storage. This exhibit brings out some of their pieces that probably haven't been seen in years.
Before the museum, we had brunch at our Riverside favorite, Tio's Tacos.
Judy had her usual, cheese enchiladas with mole sauce and rice and beans.
I had my usual, shrimp with garlic sauce and rice and beans.
The food was great and the forest friends exhibit made us smile.
