May 14, 2025 - Wednesday - Today we were in Riverside, CA to visit the Riverside Art Museum. Their latest exhibit is called "Joel Sternfeld: On this Site." The series documents seemingly mundane American locales that have been the sites of significant and often violent events. Sternfeld’s images move beyond aesthetic representation to explore themes of collective memory, historical trauma, and the nature of commemoration.
This exhibit is powerful. It seemed like we both said "Wow" for each picture we saw.
It is an emotional journey to view these familiar sites.
Before the museum, we had brunch at our Riverside favorite, Tio's Tacos.
Judy had her usual cheese enchilada with Mole sauce.
I had my usual shrimp with garlic sauce.
It was a great day.
