April 25, 2026 - Saturday - Today we were in Perris, CA to visit the Perris Valley Historical Museum.  Located in downtown Perris at the historic Santa Fe Depot, that was built in 1892.  The Museum is housed in one of the nation’s few remaining railway depots with architectural and historical importance and, as such, was listed by the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

This was the station master's desk, right behind the bay window so he could see up and down the tracks.

There are none of the usual artifacts that you generally see at a historical museum, they're upstairs in some rooms that are currently undergoing restoration.  The first floor only has leftovers from when Santa Fe abandoned the station.

The original stained glass is well preserved.

Once their renovations are completed, they'll probably be more to see here.

Before the Museum, we stopped for lunch at a local restaurant, but, it was a bust.  My choice was okay but Judy's wasn't, so in keeping with our usual policy, we aren't mentioning where we ate.
