October 20, 2023 - Friday - Today we were in Pomona, CA to attend the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Fest.  For 30 years, the Huntley College of Agriculture at the university has organized this event for the community.  From a humble patch by the side of the road where people could cut their own pumpkins off the vine, the festival has grown into a month-long series of events and activities.  It has drawn as many as 120,000 visitors in October, making it one of the largest events in the entire California State University system.

There were plenty of pumpkins here.

We were disappointed with the petting zoo since there weren't any baby goats or lambs.

The year-round farm store was interesting.

We had planned to eat here and there were a lot of vendors selling all kinds of food, BBQ, Thai, Pilipino, etc.  However, there wasn't any place to sit except for a few picnic tables over one hundred yards away in the sun.  So we drove over to Claremont to the In-N-Out Burger.

The Double-Doubles and fries did the trick.
