June 7, 2026 - Sunday - Today we were in Orange, CA to visit Pitcher Park. The park is named after the Pitcher family who donated their land to the city of Orange in the late 1980s and in 1992 it officially became a city park.
There are butterflies everywhere, including this one who plays chess.
There are many varied fruit trees here, leftover from the Pitchers.
This is a working water bubbler operated by a foot pedal.
The garage/barn is on the left, and the Honey House is on the right.
The garage now houses the fire museum.
This ladder truck cost $275 when it was built in 1907.
Mr. Pitcher's workshop is attached to the garage.

Before the park, we had brunch at the Taco Mesa - Tortilleria Organica.
Judy had their taquitos with beef, guacamole, pico de gallo, queso and crema fresca.
I had their Chili Relleno Casero with a roasted poblano pepper, cheese blend, battered and topped with tomato caldillo.
