May 13, 2026 - Wednesday - Today we were in Anaheim, CA to the see the latest exhibit at the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center called "Concrete Wave: Vans at 60 & the Birth of Anaheim's Skateboard Culture." Their program states "In 1966, Paul Van Doren, James Van Doren, Gordon Lee, and Serge D’Elia opened a small shoe factory at 704 East Broadway in Anaheim. They had no idea their grippy waffle-soled sneakers would become the uniform of a cultural revolution."
We'll be going down to our local Vans store soon, Judy wants a pair of their sneakers, probably in the checkerboard pattern.
Before the museum we had brunch at the Original Pancake House.
Judy had their "Dutch Baby" which is a miniature German pancake served with butter, lemon wedges and powdered sugar.
I went with their regular "German Pancake" which is oven-baked and served with butter, lemon wedges and powdered sugar.
We were stuffed when we left.
