September 18, 2024 - Wednesday - We were in Anaheim, CA today to visit the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center. They have a number of new exhibits but we liked "Rubber Menagerie: The Squeaky Toys of Edward Mobley" the best. During the 1950’s to 1960’s, the Arrow Rubber and Plastic Corporation manufactured children’s rubber toys that were found in homes across the country, forever creating memories for many generations. Edward L. Mobley, the designer behind these iconic characters, sought to create hazard-free squeaky friends for young children.
The entire collection of squeaky toys comes from one individual, Kate Hart, affectionately known as "Bitter Squeaks."
Mr. Mobley dreamed up a lot of cuties.
Before the museum, we had lunch at the wonderful Ruby's Diner here in Anaheim.
I had their classic cheeseburger with French fries. That's a chocolate malt in the background.
Judy had a blue cheese burger with onion rings.
Everything was great and we were more than full when we left.
