November 25, 2025 - Tuesday - Today we drove to the coast to visit the Laguna Art Museum and see their latest exhibit called "Solitude and Silence: Conrad Buff, Painter of the American Southwest." By the 1930s, Conrad Buff was considered one of the most important artists working in Southern California, forging a unique artistic vision during a transformative and often turbulent time in American art.
His paintings are bold and dramatic, and large. This last one is about eight feet wide.
Before the museum we stopped for brunch at the Zinc Cafe in downtown Laguna Beach.
Judy had their "Quattro Grilled Cheese" with gruyere, white cheddar, fontina, parmesan cheese, and dijonaise on toasted sourdough. She also had a side of chili.
I had a bowl of their "Black Bean Chili" with black beans, bell peppers, tomatoes, green onion, and sour cream with garlic knots.
Traffic was light today making the adventure even more enjoyable. |
