July 1, 2026 - Wednesday - Today we were in downtown Los Angeles to visit the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles. Their current exhibit is called "Mangia! The Evolution of Italian Food in the U. S." Their program for the exhibition states "The project explores the evolution of Italian food in the US, from largely unknown foodways belonging to a marginalized group of immigrants to what is now one of the nation’s most popular ethnic cuisines."

Before the museum we had lunch at Philippe The Original.
Judy had their "double dipped" beef French Dipped sandwich with a side of potato salad.
I had the same "double dipped" with a pickled egg and chili peppers. We shared the custard pudding for dessert.
