May 29, 2024 - Wednesday - Today we were back in Orange, CA to finish seeing the newly expanded Hilbert Museum of California Art. We were here back in March to see half of the museum and today's adventure was to see the second half.
The main gallery highlights many works by Millard Sheets.
I believe this one is called "Beer and Prosperity," check out the two cats in the lower right corner.
The second galley has an exhibit called "A Matter of Style" and it highlights some modern Californian artists, including Agnes Pelton.
These three are also by Pelton.
A third gallery highlighted the work of Emigdio Vasquez.
We loved it! This section of the museum will have primarily rotating exhibits. Before the museum we had lunch at the Taco Mesa Tortilleria Organica, also in Orange. It's been a few years since we've been here because of their odd hours due to the pandemic.
I had their "Chili Relleno Casero" which is a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, battered and topped with tomato caldillo.
Judy had their "Taquitos de Res o Pollo" which had a chicken filling with guacamole, pico de gallo queso and Crema fresca.
We were so happy to be back at Taco Mesa since their food is always imaginative and delicious. |
