September 16, 2026 - Wednesday - Today we drove into what's called the high desert to visit the Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Phelan, CA. Their brochure states "Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to preserving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned exotic animals through rescue, rehabilitation and education."
These two Bengal tigers were looking for a little privacy.
Although these rescues are given sanctuary here, the space given to each didn't seem adequate to us.
Before the sanctuary we stopped for brunch at our high desert favorite, Rick's Roadside Cafe.
Judy had a huge bacon cheeseburger with fruit on the side.
I had my usual here, their "Bread Pudding French Toast."
