November 29, 2023 - Wednesday - Today we returned to the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale, CA to see their latest two exhibits. The first exhibit is "Reina de Los Angeles," an exhibition that celebrates the Virgen de Guadalupe and Mexican culture in Los Angeles through photographs of Nydya Mora, a born and raised Angeleno, photographer, and librarian who has been documenting tributes to the Virgen de Guadalupe for more than a decade.
The second exhibit is "Shaping Gravity: Abstract Art Beyond the Picture Plane" brings abstract art into new dimensions that challenge notions of what abstraction can be.
This wall display is a kaleidoscope of changing colors and patterns.
But you can also "paint" the digital display as seen by this short video. Judy is using her brush to paint "Bob" on the display. The painting below is an example of augmented reality, the artist is Shane Guffogg.
We downloaded the app and if you look at this You Tube video, you can see what we saw on Judy's iPhone. For lunch we tried a new restaurant for us called La Bella Pinseria Romana.
We ordered two pizzas and the first was "Prosciutto Di Parma," which is mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Burrata, and EVOO.
Each oblong pie was cut into eight pieces and they're easy to eat. The second pizza was "Burrata," which is Burrata cheese, San Marzano tomato sauce , Grana Padano, Calabrian chilies, arugula, and oregano.
We were very impressed. The atmosphere is elegant and the food is both unique and delicious. |
