August 21, 2025 - Thursday - We were in Claremont, CA today to see the latest exhibit at the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art called "Complications in Color." This exhibit highlights the beauty of abstract art while revealing its deeper complexities.
One of the artists, Rachel Lachowicz, uses cosmetic materials to form her abstracts like the below sculpture of eye shadows and blushes.
The sculpture above was filled with about 20 pounds of eye shadow.
Judy liked the panel on the right.
We both enjoyed the soothing properties of this last piece.
Before the museum, we usually have lunch at Aruffo's Italian Cuisine, but today we craved the offerings at The Hat.
Judy ordered their Bar-B-Q Beef with pickles.
I had their famous pastrami sandwich with pickles and mustard.
It was a great day!
