June 11, 2025 - Wednesday - Today we drove over to the city of Brea, CA to visit the Brea Gallery. The gallery is owned and operated by the city and it's located in their Civic Center Plaza. Their latest exhibit is called the 40th Annual Made in California Juried Show. The exhibition explores the current creative movements happening in California and it serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of artistic achievement in the state and the Brea Gallery’s commitment to fostering local talent. It usually averages around 100 artworks from a variety of mediums.
The one below is called "Hundreds of my Little Friends."
This one is called "Pecking Order."
Love the bat!
It is certainly colorful, although a lot of the work was pretty wild, a little too much for our taste. The one below made us laugh with the title "Not my circus, not my monkeys."
Before the gallery we had lunch at The Hat.
Judy has been anxious to try their chili cheese dog, with tomatoes, onions and pickles.
I had their pastrami dipped sandwich with mustard and pickles.
We both were very satisfied with our orders. Yum!
