May 27, 2026 - Wednesday - Today we were in Santa Ana, CA to see the new exhibit at the Bowers Museum called "American Quilt: Cloth and Commerce." The program states: "From the Revolutionary Era to the present day, quilts have served as both cherished heirlooms and silent witnesses to the evolution of American industry, politics, and global trade. The American Quilt: Cloth and Commerce explores how the materials, dyes, and techniques used in quilt making reflect centuries of economic shifts and technological innovation."
Tools of the trade, including a quilting frame.
Flour sacks were not always plain white, the printed ones were used to make quilts.
It is a great exhibit, chronologically arranged from the 1800's to the present. It's wonderful!
For brunch today, we were back at the fabulous Norm's.
I had their "French Toast Bigger Better Breakfast" and it was big.
Judy's choice was their Belgium waffles and bacon.
