June 20, 2025 - Friday - Today we were back in Pomona, CA to visit AMOCA, the American Museum of Ceramic Art.  Their current exhibit is called "Hot! & Ready to Serve: Celebrating Functional Ceramics."  The exhibit explores the rich tradition of functional ceramics, objects created for the rituals of daily life.  Throughout history, these objects have connected us through the universal experiences of gathering, preparing, and sharing food and drink.

The exhibit started by displaying production ceramic companies.

A very young Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh purchasing their Weil of California dinnerware.

The one below is called "Cup in the Clouds."

They had some interestingly paired salt and pepper shakers.

It's a nice exhibit of creative pottery.

Before the museum we had lunch at VITA Italian Bar & Grill, also in Pomona.

Judy had their "Caprese Sandwich" with heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil, pesto sauce, and balsamic fig glaze on ciabatta.

I had their "Pappardelle Bolognese" with pappardelle pasta, home made Bolognese, and pecorino.
