January 26, 2024 - Friday - Today we were back in Pomona, CA to visit AMOCA, the American Museum of Ceramic Art. Their latest exhibit is A Traveler’s Guide to Mettlach: Villeroy and Boch which showcases everyday life in Mettlach, Germany in the 1800s. Scenes of everyday life in Mettlach have been documented and celebrated by Villeroy and Boch, a ceramic production company founded in 1836 when Jean François Boch and Nicolas Villeroy merged their ceramic businesses into what is now known as Villeroy and Boch.
This large cameo plate is very impressive.
It's a beautiful and fascinating exhibit.
Before the museum we had lunch at VITA Italian Bar & Grill, also in Pomona.
Judy had their "Rosemary Asiago Tortellini" with Asiago tortellini in a white wine butter sauce.
I had their "Mushroom Risotto" with wild mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes and sage.
The food here is always fabulous! |
