After two days of rain, we ventured out on Sunday February 7, 2010 to catch some sights in Redlands.  This field of flowers was a dirt covered lot a couple of days before and the Box Springs Mountains in the background  had been a dull brown.

Right in downtown Redlands is the A .K. Smiley Public Library, where we get all of our reading materials.

Right behind the library is the Lincoln Memorial Shrine  and they held their annual open house here today in honor of Abe's birthday.  It is the only museum with archives dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War west of the Mississippi River.

Abe was in attendance today.

And there were various characters and a band all dressed in Civil War era costumes.

This is the Redlands Bowl, which is just across the street from the Shrine and the A. K. Smiley Public Library.

There are free concerts here all summer long.

The bowl is to the left and the Library is on the right.  The Shrine is just out of the picture further to the right.

Everything in downtown Redlands is within easy walking distance from our house.
