On December 10, 2011 the west coast was fortunate to witness a total lunar eclipse at approximately 6:30 AM. Several pictures are shown below but my photographic equipment could have been a lot better. I started shooting at 4:45 AM and stopped just after 6:30 AM. By that time the moon was barely over the horizon and the view was obscured by some wispy clouds.
This picture was taken by Bobby Yang from Oakland, CA and has been posted on the web by wired.com. What a shot!
